Mission-to-Mars-6.JPG

Growing plants in space through NASA’s veggie system has taught us how plants can germinate and flower in zero gravity. Students will plant their own seeds to observe germination rates for species grown on the ISS.

Alden helps with the school garden program at Lafayette Elementary in (sometimes) sunny West Seattle. She loves to help the kids get their hands on nature, from worm bins to hydroponic basil. When not at school she can be found in her own garden or exploring the coast with her family and lovable golden doodle.
