The RNFF Gardens Program
We are passionate about growing gardens and young minds through garden education programs in schools
The what
The RNFF Gardens Program is a non-profit created to give kids something we know they need: Connection to the natural world, more time outside, and garden education. We know it’s important, especially for under-served schools. We are the only foundation directly helping Seattle schools begin or further their own garden programs. We don’t come in and do the program for the schools, we help the administration and teachers develop their own programs.
The who
Robins Nest Family Foundation created the RNFF Gardens Program to bring gardening programs to Seattle-area schools. Learn more about our partnerships by visiting our Partner Schools page. We are philanthropists, volunteers, teachers, parents and educators working to fulfill this important need in Seattle schools.
The why
We are passionate about educating our youth and crazy for gardening! We believe in the value of a future in which more children grow up with hands-on experience growing and eating healthy food, caring for the natural world, and using science directly in nature. We understand that helping a school to develop their own program has proven to be more sustainable, meaningful and successful.
