Tea Time

Kids made peppermint tea this year just in time for the snow that blanketed Seattle! Students enjoyed making their own custom tea mix using dried peppermint tea as the base and then they could add chamomile, hibiscus or lemon grass to their two tea bags. Students were then able to make cards so they could give their tea to someone special. We had lots of family say how they enjoyed a family tea time before bed!

Alden Alvarado

Alden helps with the school garden program at Lafayette Elementary in (sometimes) sunny West Seattle. She loves to help the kids get their hands on nature, from worm bins to hydroponic basil. When not at school she can be found in her own garden or exploring the coast with her family and lovable golden doodle.
